Guy Filippelli

Co-Founder and Chairman

Guy Filippelli recently launched Squadra, an early-stage venture capital firm. Guy has 15 years of experience building software teams to solve some of the world’s most challenging data and integration problems, most recently as Founder and CEO of RedOwl, which was acquired by Forcepoint in August 2017. Prior to RedOwl, Guy co-founded Berico Technologies, a high-end engineering firm that services the federal government, and launched Oxpoint Holdings, an investment arm that has invested in and incubated multiple private ventures. He began his career as a US Army intelligence officer, serving in Korea, Italy, Germany, and Afghanistan, and finishing his service at NSA. In 2007, Guy received the National Intelligence Medallion, the nation’s highest award for non-governmental personnel, for his efforts in Iraq as the analytic lead of major data fusion initiative. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, holds a B.S. in Economics from the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, and received his B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University, where he studied as a Marshall Scholar.

Tom Peddicord

Tom Peddicord is a Partner and Managing Director with the Boston Consulting Group, a global management consulting firm. Tom is a leader in the firm’s Aerospace and Defense practice, and works companies including defense contractors, OEMs, systems, and component suppliers on revenue and profit growth strategies and operations improvement strategies. Prior to joining BCG, Tom worked as a Principal with A.T. Kearney in its Aerospace and Defense practice, and Tom has worked as an engineer with Ford Motor Company, Pratt & Whitney, and Lockheed Martin. Tom received his MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia, and he graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. At BCG, Tom has helped many veterans transition into commercial industry and served as the veteran integration lead for the firm’s Washington DC office. He believes that veterans are a valuable source of talent for commercial industry and is committed to helping veterans make meaningful transitions. He currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and two daughters.

Kim Greene

Kim is a founder and managing partner of Svalinn, a Montana-based company that breeds, raises and trains world-class family protection dogs. The company was launched in 2005 in Nairobi, Kenya where Kim lived with her family. Kim is jokingly referred to as the company’s Alpha Female and is responsible for brand, marketing, team development, K9 placement, and client relations. Prior to launching the company in Africa, Kim was a policy advisor supporting President Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan before his election. Kim served in a leadership role within the United Nations on reintegration of ex-combatants. She is a graduate of Princeton University with an M.A. in public policy and also a graduate of Hamilton College with a B.A. in international relations. Kim proudly serves as a board member of the COMMIT Foundation. She is also deeply involved in youth mountain biking across the state of Montana. Kim’s greatest joy comes from recreating outdoors with her twin boys who love to ski, bike, hike, and paddleboard almost as much as she does.

Charles Spearman

Charles is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Guggenheim Partners. He specializes in organizational and executive leadership and is responsible for the development and implementation of firm-wide Diversity and Inclusion strategies and Equal Employment Opportunity compliance. Charles serves on Guggenheim’s - Steering Committee of the Women’s Innovation and Inclusion Network; the Veterans Initiative Advisory Committee; and the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee. Prior to joining Guggenheim Partners, he was the founder and principal of Tucker Spearman and Associates, Inc., an EEO and Inclusion management company. A frequent speaker and author for industry on compliance and inclusion trends, his clients have included corporations, universities, government institutions and associations such as Guggenheim Partners, Footlocker, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen Group of America, the Mid-Atlantic Coca Cola Bottling Group, American University, DOJ, HUD, U.S.P.S., the Urban Land Institute, and the National Association of Attorneys General. Charles is a founding member and trustee of the Alliance of Securities and Financial Educators (ASAFE), an alliance of volunteers that facilitates and provides design and delivery of securities and finance curriculum to diverse student and faculty audiences. He served on the faculty at Georgetown University’s Master of Professional Studies in Human Resources Management and has taught courses at Cornell University’s Industrial and Labor Relations School. Charles is a former President and Board Member of SCAN, Stop Child Abuse Now of Northern Virginia. He served as a senior advisor to an EEOC Commissioner and to leaders at the Texas Department of Commerce and the US Department of Commerce.

Matt Oberhardt

Matt is a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz in executive talent management, leading development of the firm’s executive network across the G&A and operations functions and consulting with and counseling the firm’s portfolio investments around executive hiring in these areas. Before joining Andreessen Horowitz in 2012, Matt was a Client Partner in Korn/Ferry International’s Global Technology Practice delivering executive search and executive development solutions for venture-backed, private equity-owned, and public technology companies. Prior to his six years with Korn/Ferry, Matt was Vice President of Corporate Finance for Clarus Systems, an enterprise IP communications management software firm, where he managed G&A operations including accounting, finance, human resources, legal, and information technology. Earlier in his technology career, Matt was Director of Corporate Finance and Business Development for WorldChain and Director of Business Development for NightFire Software where he led the development and execution of NightFire’s wireless strategy and established NightFire’s alliance program with systems integrators. Matt holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from MIT and a MBA from Wharton. Outside the office, he loves spending time in Tahoe and is a passionate Philly sports fan.

Mimi Bock

Mimi Bock is President for both Cetera Advisors and First Allied Securities. In this dual capacity, she focuses specifically on the relationship management and business development aspects of the business. Mimi is dedicated to preserving each firm’s unique identity, with an unwavering commitment to advisor satisfaction and measurable results. Mimi has over 30 years of experience serving financial advisors and their staff, and has been a highly effective leader for many years. She has overseen numerous functional areas including business consulting, compliance, client insights, engagement, marketing, learning and development, relationship management, risk, strategy, sales, service and technology. She most recently served as Executive Vice President, National Sales & Consulting at LPL Financial. Prior to joining LPL, Mimi held various positions of increasing responsibilities with Morgan Stanley, culminating in being named Managing Director of Global Wealth Management Marketing, followed by the Managing and Regional Director roles for the firm’s Southeast Region out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Ms. Bock proudly led the women financial advisor programs at both Morgan Stanley and LPL Financial. She also served as an Executive Member for the Securities Industries & Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Sales & Marketing Committee while at Morgan Stanley. Ms. Bock earned a B.A. in economics and sociology from Denison University and holds Series 3, 7, 9, 10, 24, 63 and 66 securities registrations.

Amir Motamedi

Through his role as a Managing Director at private equity firm Onex, Amir builds high quality businesses in partnership with talented leadership teams. Since joining Onex in 2006, Amir has worked on Onex Partners' investments in Ryan LLC, ASM Global, Clarivate Analytics, Emerald Expositions, Advanced Integration Technology and BBAM. Amir currently serves on the boards of Ryan LLC, ASM Global, Clarivate Analytics (NYSE: CCC) and Emerald Expositions (NYSE: EEX), and previously served on the board of BBAM. Prior to joining Onex, Amir was with the Investment Banking division of Goldman, Sachs & Co.. Despite having spent his career in finance roles, Amir’s overarching interest lies in the critical linkage between the human and operational sides of business, specifically as it relates to leadership, culture and business performance. Amir holds a B.A. and B. Comm. from McGill University and currently lives in New York City with his wife and two daughters.

Aimee Bateman

Secretary of the Board

Aimee joined the COMMIT team in 2022, following her retirement from the U.S. Army, to pursue her passion for making a positive impact on Veterans, especially the critical challenges of transitioning from military service to civilian life. Aimee is a retired Lieutenant Colonel with over twenty-one years of service as both an Engineer Officer and Judge Advocate, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Aimee earned her BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a JD from Texas Tech University, an LLM from The Judge Advocate General’s School, an MS from Troy University, and is also a graduate of the Army’s Command and General Staff College. She is a community volunteer with several organizations throughout the Fort Leavenworth and Leavenworth, KS communities, and is the owner of Bateman Law Group, LLC, specializing in legal representation of service members.
